Alex and Dom’s wedding at Gawsworth Hall in Cheshire was a beautifully intimate celebration, centred around the people who mattered most to them. A traditional church ceremony followed by a relaxed reception in the historic surroundings of Gawsworth Hall, the day had a lovely sense of warmth and simplicity. Nothing felt overcomplicated or overly formal. Just a genuinely lovely celebration with their closest family and friends.

The day began with their ceremony in church, a setting that brought a real sense of occasion to an otherwise wonderfully understated wedding. There’s something particularly special about smaller ceremonies. Every smile, glance and quiet moment feels that little bit more personal, and with their families gathered around them, Alex and Dom’s ceremony was full of those moments.

Afterwards, everyone made their way to Gawsworth Hall for the reception. With its beautiful historic architecture, characterful grounds and unmistakably English country-house atmosphere, it provided a wonderful backdrop for the afternoon. The contrast between the traditional church ceremony and the relaxed celebrations that followed gave the day a lovely natural rhythm.

From a photography perspective, I wanted to keep everything as effortless as the day itself. Rather than interrupting the celebrations or spending too much time on formal portraits, I focused on capturing the little interactions between family members, the atmosphere of the reception and those fleeting moments that often go unnoticed.

We also took some time for relaxed portraits around the grounds, making the most of the architecture and natural surroundings without anything feeling too posed or contrived. The aim was always to create photographs that felt authentic to Alex and Dom, with a slightly editorial quality while keeping the warmth and personality of their day.

What I loved most about their wedding was its simplicity. There was no need for an elaborate schedule or grand production. Just a beautiful setting, a meaningful ceremony and an intimate gathering of the people closest to them.

Sometimes the smallest weddings have the most wonderful atmosphere, and Alex and Dom’s celebration at Gawsworth Hall was a lovely reminder of exactly that.
